Heres some of the things I "experienced" today....
Im sorry for the title. I really am. Anyhoo... xD Bit boring today. Did some more work on the computers. Looking forward to tommorrow though! DJ Hudson is coming! He's practically a legend in our office :P Hmm, one interesting claim today. Someone hired someone else to use a crane to lift their steel hulled narrow boat out the marina. Chain ties broke. Dropped boat. Bent all the hull, so the entire boat needs replacing, as it cant be fixed. Owned. Thats £100,000 the defendant isnt going to see again. Going to see Brittish superbikes on sunday in donnington. Been told Donnington is a fantastic circuit, so that should be great :D Ill probably post tommorrow, seeing as how Monsieur Hudson's coming and all. | | Saturday, April 1st, 2006 | | 7:39 pm |
Am i ever gonna stop with the "experience" titles?
Well, today was pretty good! Sat in court all day with DJ Morris, watching all the hearings and trials etc. We got some pretty funny cases, and i got to see a few of Worksop's Finest, but that's all im at liberty to say... xD I sat at the back today, although we got DJ Hudson in on Tuesday, who is apparently really loud and funny, and im told hell make me sit up next to him while the trials etc are going on! I cant wait :D Friday i can sit in on court again, but its one trial lasting all day, it should be interesting though so i might have to... Saw a case file the other day of this families flat. They rent a council house, but the council are trying to claim possession because its now classed as a health hazard. It was horrible, there was dog shit on the walls and when they finished a fag they just chucked it on the floor.... I dont have to see them though, as their hearing is after ive left, which is a good thing, cos last time they came in im told they had to use a whole can of air freshener to get rid of the smell... Weekend now, so no more work experience update type things for a few days, like anyone really cares anyway :D | | Thursday, March 30th, 2006 | | 7:09 pm |
Again with the experience!
Hmm. did some new computer stuff today. My trusty Syncmaster (Low radiation) decided to lock up half way through, and not being windows and all there was nothing i could do to sort it out..... except hit the power switch. Aha, Me-1, Syncmaster-0 (unless you count all those gamma rays). got let out earyl again today. Today was also the first time ive made a cup of tea there myself, everyone was at lunch! Speaking of, met Alex and Ian in town, ran into Sam and James and Charlotte, among others. Went up to my secret hill thingum, and got asked by this guy to help pushstart his car :S Ah well, not a great deal happened today. The End. | | Wednesday, March 29th, 2006 | | 3:47 pm |
More experience...
Second day today, ended up doing the issues again as the district judge does not grace us with his presence till Friday. I got introduced to my machine, a Syncmaster 3 (possibly the second oldest computer ive ever seen, were talking about something that predates DOS here) on the plus side though, no need to worry as the monitor states "low radiation." Great, if my hair falls out i know why. Issues wasnt too bad, as i can do them pretty well now, and the dude was pretty impressed with my typing, im probly faster than the woman who usually does them :P Ended up doing th epost today as well, that was a breeze as i know how it all works, R&R used the exact same system. Didnt break the franking machine, which was a plus. Trish persuaded Paul to let me finish an hour early, as all my mates had the day off due to the strike :D All in all, not a bad day, Alex and Ian came to see me at lunch, but i'd already gone home. Ah well, ill meet them tommorrow. Speaking of which, theyll be a new update, id I don't die of radiation sickness. | | Tuesday, March 28th, 2006 | | 4:19 pm |
What an "experience"
Ok, first day of work experience at the county court today, and seeing as my english teacher, Alan Rickman, decreed i must keep a diary sorta thing about what ive done i decided where better to do it that....*drumroll*....my journal! Honestly, i surprise myself sometimes, what a clever idea! Arrived 15 minutes early acidentally, then had a very scary moment where i thought i'd turned up an hour early cos of stupid clocks not being put forward (just think how much sleep i would have missed!). Anyway, my boss dude hadnt turned up yet due to oversleeping, so i got put in with the bailiffs. "do you know what a bailiff is?" roared the first, "erm, debt collectory things?" I replied. "Humph.. well, we do more than that..." and the next half an hour was spent with them telling me about what they did and how they did it. Ah well, they were quite cool. Apparently they were taking this one guy into court in their car, and the kept telling him hed be back for teatime and not to worry, then when they got there the judge sentenced him to six months in prison. xD Spent the rest of the day typing up these reports dealies and sorting out all the claims and counter claims, which was pretty interesting, since I got to read what everyone was being sued for. I think the one that made me laugh was how someones, and i quote, "unskilful" driving had resulted in a crash. If you dont understand why i found that so funny then... erm... ask Dale. After what i said in my last post about not having to make tea i was pleasantly surprised to find there are tea making facilites (ie. a kettle) and that i dont have to make cups of tea.... the court manager did it for me! Twice! Managed to get lost on the way there after my lunch hour. Forgot to turn down slack walk and ended up near St Annes, which was pretty damn stupid. got let out at 4, and according to Teh Dale, I have the shortest work experience registered on the website. Owned. Thats all folks. More tommorrow, if anything happens. Don't count on it. :P | | Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006 | | 8:41 pm |
Update
Well, ive just been sent a livejournal nudge, so id best post! Not really sure what to put, not a great deal happening recently. Im currently listening to the Bloc Party CD Titch lent me, aint too bad. 2 weeks of work experience at the Worksop County Court is all ive got to put up with before Easter hols, and that shoudn't be too bad, one of my neighbours works there so im not completely on my own at first. xD Kinda looking forward to it, should be quite interesting, and they sent me a timetable of what im doing, it doesnt involve making a single cup of tea! :D Not that id mind doing that though, as long as i had one myself :P On the down side, i got mocks and year ten exams as soon as i get back, so i should probably spend some time in the hols revising, although theres no way thats gonna happen... Almost broke James' finger yesterday :/ (eep) pushed him into a door a wee bit too hard (it seemed like a good thing to do at the time ya know). Ah well, not like it doesnt go around :P Im sure Dale can back me up on that. By the way, we have a petition to get Dale a bedroom door (he doesnt have one), ill post a link as soon as titch stops being "busy" on msn. Thats all really. How interesting. | | Saturday, March 11th, 2006 | | 6:40 pm |
Skating!
Ok, went skating for James birthday today, i didnt fall over xD Dale did though.... Also, we saw Evil Gary Sinise there (google fo gary sinise if u dont know who he is, but lost track of him. I think he was planing evil schemes. Bit dodgy though, out of a 4 hour session we spent an hour and 15 mins queuing for skate hire. Think well go to the Dome next time and not ice sheffield. Mums birthday today as well (they all come at once dont they?) and she got.... a cat! hes probaby he fussiest cat i have ever seen, nothing like Jester! Hes called Captain Morgan... xD | | Thursday, March 9th, 2006 | | 6:42 pm |
Did you know how easy it is to add photos now?
Wow, really easy apparently. How amazing! Anyhoo, busy weekend this week, Johnnds back from canada and the only day he can meet up is tommorrow, so im seeing him then, which means ive had to bump going to grandads till friday. Going skating with James Saturday, hes even printed out these awesomely kiddy invitations xD Saturday is also mums birthday so i gotta get her something.... Film time Sunday, i wonder which we should see though, Crash, The Weatherman or the Fog? Decisions decisions... Fair bit more stuff but i cant be bothered to write it all out :P Science mods today, first one was easy but the second one was tricky, they were sneaky and kept asking poorly worded questions :/ I bet they fiddle the marks on both of them though, neither seemed to be the usual difficulty. Started the amazingly interesting Christmas Carol in English (erk). Ok, boring stuff done xD Interesting stuff... erm. Well. Easier said than done! Dads shouting anyway, and i cant hear him over for Fields of the Nephilim at full blast so i better check what he wants... -End |
